About Simon Blundell

Simon has been involved in the production of art all of his life, graduating from Trent University in 1986 with a Fine Art (Hons) degree. His first exhibition was at the Nottingham Castle art gallery and he has also exhibited at the Coach House Theatre and other venues. Simon gained a post graduate qualification in Art Education in 1989 and has taught in schools and colleges as well as offering individual tuition.

Simon, as a contemporary artist, is fascinated by the connection between hand and eye; memory and observation and sensation and insight. He recognises the dynamic between natural phenomena and creation in the journey of his artwork. Current work includes an exploration of juxtaposition through the use of collage, these compositions combining what one's mind might think of as recognising the named world.

Simon is available for commissions, talks on contemporary art and the process of viewing, teaching, lecturing and workshops.
